Therapy Intensives in California
Focused, Immersive Work for Anxiety & Burnout

You don’t need more insight. You need momentum.

WHEN weekly therapy isn’t enough

Is weekly therapy not cutting it anymore?

You don’t have the time to devote to weekly therapy sessions

You know you need therapy. But the idea of scheduling weekly sessions for the next six months—or longer—feels impossible.

Maybe your schedule is packed and you can barely commit to one hour a week. Maybe you're facing a major decision and need clarity now, not three months from now.

You’re stuck on something that weekly sessions can't reach

Maybe you've been in weekly therapy and hit a plateau—there's something stuck that 50-minute sessions aren't reaching. You want momentum. You want to go deep. You want to actually move the needle on what's keeping you stuck.

Intensives offer a different path.

Therapy intensives can create breakthroughs that take months in weekly sessions

therapy intensives provide focused concentrated work to relieve anxiety

What are therapy intensives?

and what makes them different?

Therapy intensives are extended sessions (or series of sessions) that give you concentrated time to work on specific issues without the start-stop rhythm of weekly therapy. The extended time allows your nervous system to process more deeply without stopping at the 50-minute mark just when things are opening up.

01

Pre-Intensive Preparation

Prior to the your Intensive, we meet for a 60 to 90-minute Pre-Intensive Assessment to determine your goals for the intensive session(s). and prepare for the experience  We will look at what is working well in your life as well as areas where you want relief, growth, or to take a big step forward.

What you get

02

Tailored Treatment Program

During the Therapy Intensive we do two things:

Processing - Make the painful parts of your life hurt less and

Resourcing - Help the good parts feel even better.

Depending on where you are in your journey, we may spend time on your earliest relationships (i.e. attachment), have a more future-oriented focus, or anywhere in between.

03

Post-Intensive Integration

After your Therapy Intensive, we meet for a 60 to 90-minute Post-Intensive session to reflect on what was most meaningful for you and create a plan to incorporate those elements into your life moving forward.

We might schedule a follow-up session a week or two later, or you might continue with weekly sessions for ongoing support.

When Intensives make sense

Therapy intensives work well if you're:

Facing a major decision and need more clarity

You're deciding whether to stay in your relationship, take a job offer, or make a major financial move. You don't have months to work through this—you need focused time to get clear.

Limited on time but ready to do the work

Your schedule is packed. You can't commit to weekly sessions long-term, but you can carve out intensive time to make real progress.

Stuck on a specific pattern that won't shift in weekly sessions

You've been working on something for months and keep circling the same issue. You need concentrated focus to break through what's keeping you stuck.

Wanting to use Brainspotting for sustained processing

Brainspotting works especially well in longer sessions. When you have 90-180 minutes instead of 50, your brain can process multiple layers without interruption.

Dealing with acute stress or a major transition

You're going through a divorce, major career change, loss, or life upheaval. You need more support than one hour a week can provide.

Ready for momentum on financial stress or relationship confusion

The slow pace of weekly therapy feels frustrating. You want to go deeper, faster, and make significant progress in a shorter timeframe.

What kinds of things can I work on in a therapy intensive?

Intensives can be especially helpful if you’re working on:

Deep anxiety healing with therapy intensives

Breakthrough on stuck patterns

Instead of circling the same issue for months, you can actually break through what's keeping you stuck—whether that's relationship patterns, financial anxiety, or perfectionism.

What's possible

01

02

Clarity on major decisions

You walk away with a clear sense of what you actually want to do about your relationship, career move, or financial decision—not from pressure or fear, but from a grounded place.

Deeper nervous system shifts

Extended Brainspotting sessions allow your brain to process multiple layers of anxiety, trauma, or stuck patterns in one sitting instead of stopping just when things start to open up.

03

04

Momentum instead of plateau

If weekly therapy has felt slow or stalled, intensives provide the concentrated focus to move forward in ways that 50-minute sessions can't.

05

Real progress in less calendar time

You can make significant progress in a few intensive sessions instead of spreading the same work over six months of weekly therapy.

How We'll Work Together

Intensives use both talk therapy and Brainspotting, depending on what you're working on.

Talk therapy

We'll explore the patterns, beliefs, and context around what's keeping you stuck. You'll understand where it came from and how it's affecting your life now.

Brainspotting

When understanding isn't enough to create change, we use Brainspotting to process what's stuck at a nervous system level. Extended sessions give your brain time to process multiple layers without stopping at the 50-minute mark.

We follow what works

We might start with talk therapy to identify what you're working on, then use Brainspotting to process it, then talk about what shifted. Or we might alternate throughout the session. We follow what you need.

How do intensives compare to weekly therapy

consistent weekly therapy for anxiety in California

Weekly therapy looks like:

  • 10 minutes checking in about the previous week.

  • 25 to 30 minutes of Brainspotting and/or talk therapy

  • 5 to 10 minutes of closing the session

You may find that each session gets focused on something specific that happened that week. Or you may find that you struggle to know how to use the time effectively to meet your overall goals.

You have time to consolidate what you are learning throughout the week between sessions, practice new skills on your own, and then talk through the experience.

Focused deep healing with therapy intensives online

Therapy Intensives look like:

  • 20 minutes checking in about a specific focus
  • 60 - 120 minutes of focused talk therapy and Brainspotting
  • 30 minutes of consolidation and closing the session

With 2 or more times the processing time per session, you might fully resolve or greatly reduce the effects of a stressor in a half day.

You are doing more focused processing work over a shorter period of time allowing you to stick to focused treatment goals

You may find that it is easier to fully engage in weekly therapy sessions after completing intensive work.

Many people do both You might start with an intensive to work through a major issue, then continue with weekly sessions for ongoing support. Or you might do weekly therapy with periodic intensives when you hit something that needs deeper focus.

How to get started with a therapy intensive

Intensives can be standalone (one extended session) or a series over consecutive days. We'll figure out what works for your schedule and goals.

01

Schedule a consultation call

We'll talk about what you want to focus on, what format makes sense (90 minutes, half-day, full-day), and how to structure the time. I'll send all the materials you’ll need to prepare for your intensive.

02

During your intensive

We use a customized combination of talk therapy and Brainspotting based on what you need. Extended sessions give us time to go deep without rushing. We take breaks as needed. The work is focused but not overwhelming.

03

After you intensive

You'll have integration time to process what shifted. We might schedule a follow-up session a week or two later, or you might continue with weekly sessions for ongoing support. Some people do one-time intensives; others do periodic intensives combined with weekly work.

Ready to move through anxiety — not just manage it?

If you’re ready for focused work on overthinking and internal pressure, schedule a consultation to see if an intensive is right for you.

  • No. Intensives can be 90 minutes, half-day, or full-day depending on what you're working on and what feels manageable. We'll figure out the right structure for you.

  • Yes. Some people work with me for intensives (especially Brainspotting-focused work) while continuing weekly therapy with their existing therapist. We can coordinate care if needed.

  • Life happens. Due to the planning and preparation that goes into an intensive, I ask for at least one week's notice for rescheduling.

  • Intensives can be emotionally intense, but they're customized to not overwhelm you. We structure the time with breaks, and I pace the work based on what you can handle. Many people feel relief and clarity, not just exhaustion.
